Eve Adams’ Short Artist Statement

I create with tools few men possess, comprehend, or can easily ignore. I seek to capture and sustain attention by sharing a process that entices the senses and seduces the imagination, while making a deep impression on both the canvas and connoisseur. My work blurs the line between canvas and flesh, exotic palettes and erotic brushes, while sharpening sensitivity to the difference between sexuality and sexualization. And while every work of art is imbued with its artist’s innermost thoughts, mine are also imbued with my own skin’s texture and DNA.

Eve Adams’ Longer Artist Statement

I create with tools few men possess, comprehend, or can easily ignore. Painting my own breasts in a mirror and pressing them to canvas lends mental reflection to physical impressions, while sharing the experience with others through deep, natural textures preserved in thick, colorful acrylics on canvas. Color and consistency not only lend abstract character to each piece, but also represent the unique landscapes formed from each woman’s individual experiences.

Eve Adams’ Informal Bio

In this “always-on” era of limited attention and immediate gratification, I believe visual arts will prove to be the most influential medium of our time. I seek to capture and sustain attention by sharing a process that entices the senses and seduces the imagination, while making a deep impression on both the canvas and connoisseur. I utilize process and product to challenge modern taboo and inspire individuals to reevaluate the context in which they interact with the human form.

Skinpressionism” is my way of exposing some things that mean a lot to me, like Tolerance, Equality, Body Positivity & something very personal to me, Breast Cancer Awareness. I’m no swimsuit model, but I have literally taken the shirt-off-my-back (and removed some other clothing too) in order to make a point, and hopefully some art — for a good cause.

Without beating around the bush, I paint by making impressions of my breasts, and any other body parts that inspire me, on canvas. So you could say, there’s a little bit of me in every piece. And, to prove it, I’ve recorded the making of each of my works, in complete & naked detail.

Is that Erotic Art? I guess that is in the eye of the beholder. Most of my pieces could be hung in a school library. Most are impressionistic — or at least start that way. Some impressions inspire me to explore in greater detail. But, the making of each is intended to inspire the viewer to appreciate more than the final canvas, but also the “Tools of the Trade”, and to inspire both women and men to appreciate the uniqueness beauty and sensuality of the imperfect “tools” we each posses. And, hopefully, to feel comfort in your own skin.

While “Eve” is a pseudonym I use to represent femininity — after years of feeling like my best body was donated to the maternity ward when my kids were born, I’ve actually come to feel very comfortable with my body — in all its various shapes and sizes — and have even made custom impressions with/for a live audience.

I hope you enjoy my art, and my process. I’ve literally put my heart and soul into it! Please follow me on my journey here, via Instagram, Facebook, Patreon and YouTube. Together, I hope we can raise awareness, and a lot of money for some deserving causes!
